Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
To begin with, there are no expectations from the music of Na Ghar Ke Na Ghat Ke. The film has arrived out of nowhere, has a newcomer (Rahul Aggarwal) who is doubling up as a director as well as the lead protagonist and doesn’t quite sound like a musical that one could actually look forward. And then you see the people in charge of the music department and there is some level of resurrection. Composer Lalit Pandit, lyricist Mudassar Aziz and singers like Remo Fernandes, Shreya Ghoshal, Neeraj Sridhar, Sunidhi Chauhan and Sukhwinder Singh make one heave a sigh of relief that there would at least be a song or two that would turn out to be a good hear.

Do Dilon Ke Khel Mein Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
Now when did this film get made? Really, with IPL round the corner, it’s the same situation as one saw last year when number of films arrived in theatres out of nowhere. Google search reveals that the film also stars Rajesh Khanna in a pivotal role which adds some credibility to the film. However, with not many expectations, one goes on to play Do Dilon Ke Khel Mein which has music by Daboo Malik and lyrics by Panchhi Jalonvi.

Shaapit Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
Vikram Bhatt and good music go together. The albums may or may not register huge sales but the fact remains that Bhatt is one filmmaker who has an ear for music and is conscious of the requirement of some good melodic songs. This is why there are good expectations from the music of Shaapit, especially since it also marks the debut of Aditya Narayan, son of Udit Narayan, as an actor. Chirantan Bhatt is roped in as a composer along with lyricist Sameer for this horror tale with love story playing an integral part of the plot.

Click Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
Making music for a horror film is always a tricky affair. Until and unless there is an element of romance to it, the soundtrack of a film belonging to such genre typically gets relegated to background theme pieces. However, since Click has a lead couple to boast of with a definite element of romance to it as well, one does look forward to at least a song or two turning out to be a good hear. Though composer Shamir Tandon hasn’t really been delivering chartbuster music over the years, one does hope that with director Sangeeth Sivan at the helm of affairs, there would be something to hum about at the least. Lyricist Shabbir Ahmed writes.

Right Yaaa Wrong Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
A film which went on floors more than two years ago. The music which could well have been made even before that. The composer (Monty Sharma) who has been waiting for an elusive chartbuster score for long. A film genre (action) which doesn’t quite promise a chartbuster popular appeal. And then the title of a couple of songs (’Lakhnavi Kabab’, ‘Tiledar Dupatta’), courtesy lyricist Sameer, which pretty much states the kind of soundtrack in the offering. That’s Right Yaaa Wrong for you, an album where one sincerely prayers that there is something good in the offering, what with Subhash Ghai’s ‘Mukta Arts’ as the presenters of the film.

Hide & Seek Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
You don’t really warm up to the idea of picking up Hide & Seek as the album of the weekend. A thriller flick always comes with its own limitations of song placement and the thought is no different for Hide & Seek which appears to be a slasher horror thriller tale and hence comes with minimalist scope for music. However, with name like Gourov Dasgupta on the album cover, who has to his credit some decent numbers in films like Dus Kahaniyan and Aa Dekhen Zara, you end up being a tad hopeful.

Teen Patti Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
A situational soundtrack set in an out and out Western mood is what one expects from Teen Patti which has composer duo of Salim-Sulaiman coming together with lyricist Irfan Siddiqui. Though director Leena Yadav’s last film Shabd had indeed boasted of a few good tracks by Vishal-Shekhar, there was more scope of coming up with commercially viable songs due to the romantic theme of the Sanjay Dutt-Aishwarya Rai-Zayed Khan starrer. Not that a plot driven film like Teen Patti can’t be expected to have good music but then the job is only a little more difficult, unless a film has a film maker like Sanjay Gupta at the helm of affairs. This is the reason why one keeps expectations in check before playing on Teen Patti.

Toh Baat Pakki Music Review

EXPECTATIONS
Over last few years, Tips Music Films and Pritam have been delivering chartbuster soundtracks. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani was one of the top selling albums of last year while last year, both Race as well as Kismat Konnection did very good business. Naturally, one expects at least a decent outing in Toh Baat Pakki. However, there is one factor that is required to be kept in mind before one starts expecting too much. The fact is that music played an integral part in the aforementioned three films with a strong element of love tying the film’s screenplay together. However, Toh Baak Pakki is more of a situational comedy. Also, it doesn’t have a big budgeted extravagant feel to it, something that oozed out of all other outings. This is the reason why one has expectations in check before checking out what does Pritam have to offer this time around.
